The Budapest Water Summit will take place from 28 to 30 November, and brings together representatives of the water sector to discuss how the water sector can support the implementation of the water related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs – read more about what they are below).
Important stakeholders are invited to join the discussion, and think about how they can contribute. Young people are invited as well. And many, many, many things are done by youth contributing to a better water world. They come together during the Youth Forum.
The Youth Forum convenes future decision-makers for an exchange of ideas. Youth representatives will share the results of efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local, regional and international level.
Sessions will connect cross-generational professionals in order to improve capacity building efforts. Participants will provide input towards the Budapest Declaration and stand-alone Youth Declaration. By fostering space to create linkages, the Youth Forum aims to promote future international cooperation on solving pressing water issues.

Here you can find videos with messages of some of the youth who attended the Summit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEM6RlAZzqQ - What are the Sustainable Development Goals?
In September 2015, all 193 countries of the United Nations (UN) agreed on a new set of development goals that will follow up on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which end in 2015.These new Sustainable Development Goals form a framework for development in all countries, not just developing countries as was the aim of the MDGs.
There are 17 goals and 169 targets, covering a wide range of topics promoting sustainable development. There is one specific goal focusing on water (Goal 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all), and several targets linked to water issues. Countries and development partners are already expected to support the implementation now the Goals are accepted. Young people can play a big role in this regard, and many things are already being done. Find all goals here: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/?menu=1300
