The call for proposals for the Citizen’s Forum is now open! You can download the forms below, and send them in before the deadline of 30 September 2014. Please contact us if you need more information or help for your proposal; We can help you by checking if other youth organisations are working on a similar plan and by reviewing your proposal.
The 7th World Water Forum will be an open platform where various stakeholders can exchange their views on water, find solutions, and interact with the international community. Young people are involved in every aspect of the Forum, and especially in the Citizen’s Forum.
We, a group of international youth organisations joined in the International Youth Steering Committee, are working on proposals for creating an open framework for a youth forum, a youth booth in the expo, intergenerational networking activities, and are paving the way for other youth organisations to join the various processes. Please let us know if you want to get involved (7thwwfyouth [at] gmail.com). You can find more information on our activities here: Flyer Youth Activities World Water Forum [IYSC]
Citizens Forum information
The Citizen’s Forum is designed as an open Forum, where specific programs will be organized by citizens and civil society organizations. This means that participants can freely design and execute their own activities concerning the subject of their interest or expertise, as long as they contribute to the goals of the Forum. You are free to choose your own form for the activity or session you want to organise (for instance a conference, panel discussion, seminar, workshop, lectures, exhibitions, cultural events, and other creative formats).
Therefore, the secretariat of the World Water Forum invites citizens and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to propose their own programs that have educational value contributing to enhancing public awareness of water and encouraging dynamic interaction to seek solutions together.

Important Notes
- Selection process: Proposals will be reviewed by the Evaluation Committee in October, focusing on the criteria such as relevance to the civil society and water, creativity, continuity, and linkages with other Processes, etc. You will receive an answer about the status of your proposal before the end of October.
- Proposals can be submitted in English or Korean. If you need help with translation, please let us know (we can’t guarantee anything, but can see if we can find people who can check the spelling and grammar).
- Financial support may be provided to some of accepted proposals, based on the request and available budget of the Secretariat. Funding will be made according to the priority given to each short-listed proposal. (this means that it is very important that you will find your own funding as well! It is not easy, but let us know if you are successful. Please take into account the costs for flights and accommodation too. We are negotiating about reduced pricing for young people).
- Those who already submitted a proposal do NOT need to re-apply. However, they are kindly asked to check the new proposal template and if they wish, they can send additional information to supplement their proposal, by August 31.
- The Evaluation Committee may ask applicants to submit documents that support legitimacy of their organization (e.g. CSO/NGO registration certificate).
