From 20 to 22 January, the Asian Irrigation Forum took place. The Water Youth Network could be present, and we worked with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Young Professionals for Agriculture Development (YPARD), Plan International, young professionals from ADB, and students from University of Philippines, Central Luzon State University, and Ateneo University. We collectively: organised 19 young people’s engagement including 5 young Philippino farmers; facilitated a youth debate for/against government subsidies of irrigation water with opening statements on either side from the young farmers and participants from nearby universities; improved youth visibility and participation in roundtable discussions; and both shared and learned a lot with the attending young people. We are happy with the outcome. Please find on the additional pages the blogs and speeches of the young ocntributors.
