“Happy World Toilet Day!
The World Toilet Day was celebrated at UN headquarter in New York, where the The UN High-Level Water and Sanitation Days, a set of coordinated events, are taking place to reflect on the recent transition from the 2015 Millennium Development Goals to the new adopted 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
For such occasion, the UN Major Group for Children and Youth (UN MGCY) with the support of the Water Youth Network organized the side event “Water for All – Challenges and Solutions”. This event looked at the inclusion of water and sanitation in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with particular focus on SDG 6 “Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”. Specifically, the side event consisted of young people sharing their priorities and experiences in the implementation of human right to water and sanitation; these showcases were followed by an open discussion on the remarks made throughout the presentations.
Take a look at the flyer of the session. More information about the outcomes of the session will be published soon!
