Water Youth Network, together with the Water Youth Parliament for Water and the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) are organizing an innovative dialogue called ‘Facilitating Cooperation between Generations to Solve “Wicked Water Problems” at the 2013 Stockholm World Water Week.
This unique session will include a panel of senior professionals and a panel of young water professionals who will discuss ways of enhancing co-operation in the water sector across age groups, in the context of the water-food-energy nexus.
This topic was chosen because of the importance of ‘nexus approaches’ to discussions shaping the global development goals that will replace the Millennium Goals in 2015. Young people will play a key role in carrying out future development goals in the ‘post 2015’ agenda, and so meaningful co-operation across generations of water professionals is a critical discussion. If you are attending the ‘Young Professionals Day’ at WWW this year we hope you will participate in the session (Wednesday September 4, 2013). If you can’t be there in person, your questions on intergenerational-cooperation can be tweeted to #wwweek #gen2050.
