Rectification: There was a miscommunication about the funding procedure for the World Water Forum. The procedure has been extended until 12 december, but only for those participants who already submitted proposals, in all Processes, including Citizen’s Forum. The form is distributed through the coordinators. For the Citizen’s Forum, the secretariat will send the form, once they confirm that the applicant had Citizen’s Forum proposals (organizers or associated invitees).
We apologise for the confusion and hope that you can find funding to come, or that you would like to think with us how to link the Forum to your local situation. For questions, you can always contact us. More news will follow soon.
The 7th World Water Forum is coming closer and you have a chance to be part of it NOW!
The organisers of the World Water Forum have made a budget available to support the travel costs of a number of participants. If you wish to receive support for travel costs, you need to apply and motivate your request. Financial Support will be available for water actors who make active and effective contribution to the forum preparation and forum week. Final grantees will be selected by the Review Committee based on their financial need and the value of their participation in one of the Forum’s activities. We particularly encourage non-OECD countries to apply.
On 12 December, the deadline for applications for travel subsidies to the 7th WWF, will close.
If you want to have a chance at receiving full or partial funding, please apply in time. (Applying does not ensure that you receive the funding. It is advised that you look for other resources too.) Please e-mail to financialsupport@worldwaterforum7.org to receive the application documents.
More information can be found here http://eng.worldwaterforum7.org/registration/regi/guide_support.asp. Mind that the deadlines are not correct, and that rules can still can change. When you are actively involved in the Forum, you have more chance to receive funding.
Please note that participating in the WWF youth events is an intensive but very enriching process, which requires a thorough preparation. When applying and requesting financial support, please take time to reflect. For instance:
- – What do you want to get out of participating?
- – What do you bring to the Forum (knowledge to share, willingness to learn, skills in communication, writing, project management)?
- – What do you want to share with your peers, colleagues, friends back home, and how will you do this?
The International Youth Steering Committee & Youth Participation
The International Youth Steering Committee (IYSC) brings together numerous youth stakeholders from around the world to organise and coordinate the youth participation in all stages of the World Water Forum processes. Find out more via https://www.wateryouthnetwork.org/archives/category/events/wwf-events. If you want to be involved in giving this World Water Forum a touch of youth, you can join the IYSC in its efforts to ensure good quality youth participation at the Forum! This is an open process, and we aim at integrating as many young people as possible from diverse backgrounds!
Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to join the Forum, but we can all do our best to remain connected, share information, announce all possibilities for participating in the different processes of the Forum, etc. Also, the follow-up plan for after the World Water Forum will be a collective exercise!
Together, we can work on organising sessions, reflect on the content and share ideas and views before, during, and after the Forum, strengthening youth participation, and linking more young people to the event. We are forming working groups and are lobbying for youth participation. If you want to join, please send an email to 7thwwfyouth [at] gmail.com.
Please share your ideas on how we can all share our knowledge, ideas and experiences and bring these to the Forum.
We look forward to working with you!
