WYN participation in the COY13

What is the COY 13?

The 13th Conference of Youth (COY13) will take place in Bonn, Germany in November 2-4, 2017 and welcomes young activists and other interested individuals from all around the world. COY13 is organised by young volunteers and intends to empower youth with regard to climate justice, climate policy and sustainability through a multilingual programme consisting of methodical and content-related sessions. It will provide space to exchange knowledge and experiences, build new networks and movements, develop creative ideas and prepare for the subsequent 23rd Conference of Parties (COP23) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

COP23 is this year’s international climate summit, taking place in Bonn under the presidency of Fiji.

What will WYN do at the COY 13?

We will participate organising a session titled “My True Story on Climate Action” where we will present a true story dealing with topics like:
– Disaster risk reduction,
– Integrated Water Resources Management,
– Resilience,
– Climate change awareness,
– Youth involvement.

The main objective is to showcase youth involvement on water and climate and the evolution of their commitment. The session will cover topics from momentary and spontaneous actions, to well-prepared sustainable projects, to the creation of both a global platform to combine and coordinate these projects.

The audience will be inspired by different success stories and will learn and discuss about the challenges and creative solutions of good collaborative practice.
